Anyway, lets start this beautiful Friday morning with two cases worth arguing here, shall we? So both of this celeb was invited to sit on the front row at the recent Chanel Fall 2011 couture fashion show. Diane Kruger and Elle Fanning, of course, wearing Chanel, have something in their look that got my fashion-bitchery-sense twitching.
CASE 1: Diane Kruger in Chanel Fall 2009 Couture
It's the usual Diane. The hot-bod Diane who wears couture and still looking pretty and fabulous and gorgeous. The usual Diane who get invited to party and events and show in Paris. Just another typical day for a typically beautiful Diane Kruger.
And the dress? Well I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't really like the hem but mullet and asymmetrical hem is not as offensive to me as it is offensive to a lot of others bitchy fashion bloggers/critics out there. Plus, that's not really a mullet hem, it's more like a mullet hem + a skirt or some sort. Or maybe like asymmetrical tulip hem or something. Anyway, I love those detailing on the bodice and inside the skirt. And I also love that lining below her bust.
BUT
Diane, if you can work the shit out of a complicated-looking couture dress like this, why do you wear those cheap-looking, Reese-Witherspoon-would-love-those strappy heels?
CASE 2: Elle Fanning in Chanel Spring 2009 Couture
This is Elle and she's going trough a phase in her life (yeah, pre-adolescent is correct but we're NOT talking about that NOW). It's that phase where she'll wear the same type of dress (sweet, a little risky and couture) and the same look over and over again.
She's 13, young, pale, blond, pretty. She can work the shit out of most of the dress out there. And her comfort zone when it comes to dressing is not that boring. I mean, she's in her comfort zone and she's wearing couture. How cool is that?
BUT.
Chanel Spring 2011 Collection |
If her comfort zone has a shoe closet consisting a lot of this (and remember this?) then one advice for you my dear sweetie: GET THE F**K OUT OF THERE!!!
Guess both of'em look pretty fab but made a mistake (minor for Diane, MAJOR for Elle) in the shoe department. But Diane have a history of looking perfectly fabulous that no one will remember those insignificant crappy (pun intended) heels and Elle, well, she's still young and she got a long way to go ahead of her.
xoxo
