Magazine Cover: Anne Hathaway for Marie Claire UK

Sorry I have not posted anything for this month yet. A little caught up with my part-time job. And fasting. Anyway.

Lets talk about something interesting here before I started mumbling stuff like how I am so tired or how tiring the work schedule is or how some people take workplace's rules waaaay too seriously.

Anne Hathaway covers the Sept 2011 issue of Marie Claire UK and lets pretend we're some kinda bitchy and cranky and nitpicky fashion bloggers and start trolling and commenting on the pictures shall we? Wait. I am a bitchy and cranky fashion troll/bloggers. HOHOHOHOHO!

Anne Hathaway in D&G famous star-printed dress on the cover of Marie Claire UK.
First thing first, I don't know why these celebs and fashion lovers are all crazy about these D&G star printed dress. To me, the print look like some kinda 5-years-old kid's bedsheet. I mean, dude, it's JUST STARS.

Secondly, I don't read Marie Claire but I know that it's some kinda high standard fashion magazine like Vogue and Elle and stuff. ut this cover doesn't look Marie Claire at all. It looks more like an Instyle magazine cover.

And man, that's one very unflattering bust-angle. Plus, I know she's a girl-next-door sweet kinda person but I'm not sure about being all smile when doing a fashion editorial. I mean, she's pretty but I prefer fabulous.

But what about the other pictures?

This is her trying to be all "Fashion is my salvation. Oh fashion really REALLY turns me on. Oh yeah, fashion. Oh yeah!". As always, she's looking pretty but again, the outfit and the accessories kinda screams "Nylon!! Glamour!!" From the neck up, it's quite a dramatic pretty look but from the neck down.... Enh.

Valentino Fall 2011 ready-to-wear.
Okay. So we have several issues to discuss with this picture.

First, again, with the accessorizing. That pile of necklace makes the whole look looks kinda cheap.

Second, I hate the dress. And isn't it a little too plain to be made a fashion editorial shoot dress?

Third, I can only see her nostrils. I know she's trying to be all fun and stuff but with the plain dress and plain backdrops, I just think it's not a right combo. Instead of looking like she's having fun whipping her hair back and forth, she looks all "OH GOD RELEASE MEH FROM THIS BORING SET OH GOD MY EYES BURN FROM THIS BORING GRAY SHADES PLEASE SOMEBODY RELEASE MEH!!"

So in conclusion, I have seen Anne shoots better pictures than this. I think I'll blame the people behind the scenes and the stylist for this tak menjadi photoshoot.

Ps: And I just look at the first official picture of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie and man, that was one friggin' cool ride.

Olivia Wilde gone wild...

...and dye her hair blond, to inject a dose of glam into your rather ordinary, boring, normal life. Or maybe that's just me. Anyway.

Olivia Wilde on LA Times
Well too bad this look doesn't suit her that much. Not that it doesn't suit her in the context that it makes her look ugly. It doesn't suit her in the context that I love her more as a brunette. I love her too much as a brunette I can't seem to accept her as a blond. Well, maybe that's just my issue. But is it my issue too that I almost mistaken her for Jennifer Lopez? Anyone?

Well she look fabulous nevertheless. I mean, when she's not right? She got this bitchy, evil, Cruella-de-Ville-kinda glam look on her face. Besides some issue with her hair, I think she's working the shit out of this magazine cover.

Well inside, she tries to work a more challenging look.

Well, this is the down-side of being blond. This is an interesting high-fashion dress but unfortunately, she still looks bland.

Rihanna for US Vogue
Well I didn't mean to make this a 'battle' post. Let just look at the comparison here; how Rihanna's red-flaming hair make the color look more intense and the she looks more gorgeous and fabulous because honey, bland is the last thing you wanna look when doing a magazine photo-shoot.

They both wear this dress form Chanel Pre-Fall 2011 Collection.
Well I don't blame her for looking bland. Her stylist should now better. She should wear some colors or something, to be in contrast with her blond hair.

Christina Hendricks: Beneath All That Volume.

I remember some time ago I saw Christina Hendricks on a cover of a magazine.

Christina Hendricks for New York Magazine
And I was like, "So..... She's all about boobs eh?"

I mean, she look like a mess. Her hair was a mess and she was holding it as if she wants to break free from it and her face expression reminds me of gollumn from Lord Of The Ring when he saw that ring and start saying "my prrrecious..." And the large font is saying spring fashion but she's wearing nothing but her undergarment. But there's one (or maybe two) thing that'll catch people's eyes when they see this on the newsstand-her boobs.

I don't know Christina Hendricks. I never watch that tv show Mad Men (but I'd really really like to). But I saw her occasionally on the red carpet (Mad Men was nominated and have won, like, so many awards) and I see her as a beautiful woman struggling to make people make eye contact with her.

Whatever it is, that's why I found this next magazine cover is quite.... better?

Christina Hendricks for Lucky Magazine
Well she look slightly aged. I don't know if that is because of her makeup or her wide grin that produce a few lines on her cheek or her voluminous hair. But nevertheless, I see some serious business here. Here is Christina Hendrick. She's beautiful and she has a career and she's serious about it (maybe because she looks a little mature in this picture). Her dress look beautiful on her, slightly tight but still pretty.

And inside, she opt to look all sweet and innocent. Actually if you look carefully at Christina's face, you'll realize that she's actually more of a very cute and attractive redheaded girl than a matured, busty bombshell.

Anyway, I'd like to see more of her on the red carpet and I'll surely hopes she'll find her way in looking good on one.

Which Potter is Hotter?

I never watch Harry Potter - and I'm not planning to (although the last installment's of the movie's trailer seems so inviting (who am I kidding though? It's the TRAILER)). I mean, yeah, it's a movie about witches and stuff but if you think about it, minus the witchcraft element, it's just a movie about:
  1. A loser kid who hang out with two gingerhead who's also secretly was some kinda choosen one or some sort like that. Bleh.
  2. Then the cool mean kid at school was too blond. What is he some kinda male-Sharpay or something? Thank God he's not tan.
  3. The bad evil guy was someone who's so ugly he might have a terrible childhood. Why don't you just chill and listen to Taylor Swift's song? That'll surely keep your spirits up. Trust me. I've been trough there. The song-listening, I mean, not the terrible childhood. Plus if he's so powerful why don't he give himself a nose?
Anyway, maybe that was just me - a shallow HarryPotter-hater. That's why I'm not going to talk about that in this post (because trust me, if I do, it'll be along one)

So two of the hottest girl in the movie franchise - one was Harry's love interest and one was Harry's supposedly love interest (correct me if I'm wrong) - pose for two different mags to promote the last Harry Potter movie. Which one of'em work it best? That's for us to judge.

Emma Watson for Vogue
It should have been an easy task for Miss Harmonica Badger here. She's no strangers to the modeling world (she's one of the models of the clothing line Burberry). But this one; this is a picture of a typical 'I'm-an-actress-on-a-cover-of-magazine-so-I'll-just-act-all-pretty-and-SMIIILLLLEEEEEE'. With all those glam makeups and fabulous dress, she can do way better than this. It's a pretty editorial shoot nonetheless. To view the whole shoot of Emma for this magazine you can click on this link.

Bonnie Wright for Haute Muse
How old is Miss Funny-Finny-Whatever-It-Still-Sound-The-Same here again? All that makeups and clothing and accessory seems to aged her a bit. She looks undeniably glam but not that fun-and-funky-and-fresh kinda glam. This is more like an-old-dying-career-diva-trying-to-get-back-on-her-feet-after-years-of-drugs-and-alcohol-abuse kinda glam. She looks like she's so tired and she just need to lay down but she is not tired enough to scream at the people on set who did not massage her feet properly. Yes, she does look fabulous but she also looks a little old and that's not good when you're on the cover of a magazine and geez I talk too much didn't I?

So my vote goes for Miss Hymen-y here. What says you?

Why didn't Drew look at her again?

When I saw this magazine cover, I thought: If Taylor Swift was in her 40s now then she must have written her very first hit song 'Teardrops On My Guitar' when she was in her highschool in the late 70s.

And Drew must be a guy with oil-slick hair wearing leather jacket with skinny jeans who listen to Sex Pistols and go partying every Thursday and Friday and Wednesday and Tuesday and weekends nights. And Taylor here, always walk past him when he's talking to his other greasers friend about bikes and stuff while stuffing kids into their lockers in her high-waisted skinny jeans while talking to her female friend about, I don't know, James Dean or stuff. And now she must be thinking, "Ah, those good ol' days..."

So why Drew? Why don't you look at her?

Is he gay?

Did Taylor Swift lie about her age?

Who W-orked it better: Xtina vs Beyonce

Before I get to the MuchMusic Awards fashion, lets get down to the most blood-spilling, gruelling, most awesome magazine cover battle of the year!!

Okay. I'm exaggerating so that you guys will continue reading.... Anyway.

For the music issue of W magazine this month, they feature two of the most successful and talented female singer on the cover.

Lets ring the bell and start with our first contender, Miss 'Why-can't-anybody-understand-my-retired-Burlesque-star-havin-sex-with-Marylin-Monroe-and-a-hair-bleacher-and-get-a-baby-style-that's-it-I'm-goin'-NAKED', Christina Aguilera!!!

Okay. Lets get down with this thing. She's naked. That means: no clothes. Which actually means: on what aspect should I be all bitchin' about?

How about the pose? I remember watching the second episode which is the first photoshoot of the model from the cycle 10 of ANTM where Tyra mention something about clueless model just stare into the light and hope for the best.

How about the hair? I kinda love it on her. Of course I will call her crazy if she goes out on a stroll with that hair (and of course a lot to be bitchin' about unless she's taking a stroll on a very windy day wearing a shoe and clothes made out of a magnetic field ball) but this a a high-fashion shot. It kinda give that soft vibe on her looks.

How about the makeup? I think it looks good on her. At least she didn't look like a 5-years-old playing with mommy's makeups.

Hmmmm..... I kinda like it... But what about her contender?

Presenting, Miss Run-The-World-is-strictly-for-fans-who-believed-that-I-am-pregnant-and-going-to-retired, BEE-ON-SAY!!!

She had her clothes on! And she didn't look ridiculous! I think we already have our winner here!!

For full coverage, click on this link.

What do you think?

I'm sorry for my crappy post. My hamster just died. Thus all your arguments are now invalid. xoxo

(ps: But seriously, unlike Xtina who opts to look all sweet and innocent in the photoshoot, Beyonce goes for fierceness and loootsa clothes, if you click on the link (what the heck, it's Beyonce). Credits to Xtina's makeups team cause she had never look this good in a lowng time and I really hope she'll keep hiring'em. And yes. My hamster really died you bitches.)

Beyond words Beyonce

Yes, Honey Bee. I'm dazed and confused too.

Why do you pair a sheer printed top with a leopard-print bra? Why do you wear a shorts that look like something a 5-year-old girl would wear to her swimming lesson? Why did you import your hairstylist and makeup artist from Queens?

And most importantly, why don't you eat your ice-cream before it melted, messy little girl?
